NEW TECHNOLOGY CAN EASE WATER CRISIS
The drought conditions and climate change being experienced by large parts of Australia have highlighted the need for home owners to consider the installation of water-saving plumbing devices in their homes, according to Dux Hot Water.
Dux Hot Water has just launched a revolutionary hot water recirculation system called Readyhot, which reduces the amount of time and water wasted while waiting for hot water to arrive at the tap.
Dux Hot Water says tests show fitting Readyhot to a home can save thousands of litres of water per year.
"There's mounting evidence that Australia's position as the driest continent is being exacerbated by climate change caused by the greenhouse effect," said Dux Hot Water's national manager of gas and electric, Howard Lloyd.
"Despite recent rains in the eastern states, drought conditions persist in many areas and water supply should now be a long term issue for us all," he said.
Readyhot is a revolutionary water recirculation system which pumps back to the water heater, on demand, any hot water which has cooled in the household's pipes.
The unit re-circulates water at over 50 litres per minute and up to 89 litres per minute with the large unit.
Depending on installation, Readyhot can reduce the waiting time for hot water to only a few seconds.
Readyhot is suitable for both the new and existing home markets as it has the advantage of being able to be easily retrofitted.
It is also compatible with all brands and styles of hot water systems.
Readyhot is available in four versions - for standard or larger homes, with either new construction options or retrofit options.
All packs include a remote switch which can be fixed to a wall anywhere in the house and used to activate the recirculation pump.
