HOT WATER - WHENEVER YOU NEED IT

Dux Hot Water's latest hybrid solar hot water system provides one of Australia's most efficient water heating systems by reaping the many benefits of harnessing solar power.

The Dux SunPro Solar Gas Continuous Hot Water's energy efficiency has been recognised by its recent win of the annual Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) award at the national Designbuild exhibition in Melbourne.

Judges for the 2004 BPN/Environ Designbuild ESD Product Award noted Dux as a home-grown company focused on environmental responsibility. This is the latest in a round of energy-efficient products emerging from the Dux Research and Development facility.

The new Dux gas-boosted solar-powered system acts as a highly efficient "on-demand" water heater, maximising hot water storage while minimising energy use.

The solar collectors capture and heat the water. The hot water is then stored in one of Dux's tried and proven tanks.

Normally the stored water is hot enough and passes straight through the continuous unit into the house. For cloudy days the SunPro system provides the unique benefit of boosting the water as it goes through the continuous unit into the house, so you always have hot water.

This latest Dux solar system technology responds to the emerging governmental emphasis on environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient hot water systems.

Victorian legislation requires all newly built 4-star homes to feature gas-boosted solar systems or rainwater tanks, and NSW legislation requires new Sydney metropolitan households to produce 25 per cent less greenhouse gas emissions than similar existing households.

"We are at the forefront of national and international trends by developing more energy-efficient, flexible hot water systems," said Dux Hot Water's Manager Environmental Products Richard Taylor.

Tests according to Australian standards show that the latest Dux SunPro hybrid system can provide up to an 80 per cent saving on annual water heating costs.

Homeowners and renovators who replace their electric hot water systems with a Dux solar system could be eligible to receive dollar incentives from the Federal Government.

A Dux Solar Gas Continuous hot water system combining a 315 litre storage tank with a 24 litre continuous-flow gas heater can achieve a Federal government rebate of up to $1440 with an extra $600 awarded in WA.

The choice of three different size hot water storage tanks, three gas continuous-flow heaters and two types of solar panels gives homeowners, renovators and tradespeople considerable versatility.

And because the Dux SunPro water heater is a split system, only the slim solar panels appear on the roof, greatly enhancing the visual appeal of the Dux product.

The SunPro solar gas continuous system uses European state-of-the-art solar technology, developed to meet very strict European environmental controls while performing in diverse weather conditions from sunny to freezing, ideal for the varying climatic conditions around Australia.

Dux's award winning SunPro Solar Gas Continuous Hot Water system combines the benefits of solar power and continuous hot water heating.
