Emergency hot water repair and replacement during COVID-19 restrictions
The provision of hot water has been deemed an essential service for sanitisation and hygiene purposes. Tradespeople working to provide emergency repair and replacement of water heaters have been classified as ‘’authorised’’ or ‘’essential’’ workers.
Dux Hot Water will continue to offer emergency services during the current COVID-19 restrictions. All non-emergency work in LGAs affected by restrictions should be paused until such time that restrictions are eased or removed.
To ensure we reduce the risk of virus acquisition and transmission, we have implemented ‘’Dux Safe Work Protocols’’ to enable safe trade during the pandemic.
Dux Safe Work Protocols
We ask all trade-based customers representing Dux in regards to an emergency repair or replacement of a water heater to follow our Safe Work protocols when interacting with customers and the broader supply chain.
- To complete a temperature test showing <38⁰C before going to work.
- To not work if displaying any symptoms including a temperature, dry cough, sneezing or a sore throat.
- To confirm with the homeowner or business owner that they are not currently isolating, or a close (or casual) contact before working on site.
- To wear a face mask whilst working.
- To avoid close contact with anyone on the site and always maintain a social distance whilst doing any work.
- To sanitise hands and wear gloves whilst doing the work, and avoid touching their face (eyes, nose, mouth).
