#Annual energy savings of up to 70.8% (200DHC25) and 71.6% (300DHC25) are based on Australian Government approved TRNSYS simulation modelling using a medium load in Zone 3 and apply when replacing an electric water heater of a similar size. Any savings will vary depending according to the installation location, water heater type being replaced, hot water consumption and energy tariff of the water heater.
*Full warranty terms and conditions are in the Owner’s Manual. Without limiting the stated warranty period, Solar Victoria’s Solar Homes Program offers a 5 year ‘Whole of Product’ warranty where a rebate has been received under Solar Victoria’s Solar Homes Program for installations from 1 July 2023.

Government Incentives
When you purchase and install a Dux Ecosmart heat pump water heater, you may be eligible for a variety of incentives that reduce your upfront cost. Each incentive has eligibility requirements that need to be met.
There are a number of incentives that may apply to the Dux Ecosmart range, including but not limited to:
- Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
- NSW – Energy Savings Scheme (ESCs)
- VIC- Victorian Energy Upgrades Program (VEECs)
- VIC- Victorian Solar Homes Program
- ACT- Sustainable Household Low Interest Rate Finance Scheme
Federal Government STCs
Trade your STCs to earn a discount off the cost of your new heat pump water heater. Each product in the Dux environmental range has been assigned a STC value, and each STC represents a saving of one megawatt of electricity generated from fossil fuels over 10 years.
Used the reduced entitlement when selecting your new water heater and to calculate the STC incentive you could be eligible for.
Check with your council if additional rebates are available in your local area.

Systems eligibility for STCs and STC values are subject to change without notice and are correct at time of publishing. STCs calculations are based on continuous tariff. STC values attributable to solar and heat pump water heaters are being reduced by 10% per year. The values stated in the tables above match the values published in the register of heat pump water heaters. These include a reduction in STCs (checked January 2025). Use the STC calculator link www.rec-registry.gov.au/rec-registry/app/calculators/swh-stc-calculator to calculate the number of STC your installation is eligible for. The systems eligibility for STC’s will be based on the year in which the system was installed.

They feature low GWP R290 refrigerant which is naturally better for the environment, and connected technology which puts the power to control the heat pump in the palm of your hand.
We’ve specified high performance components from some of the biggest names in refrigeration and controller technology to provide the utmost quality and ensure product longevity.
The Dux Ecosmart 285L model features the same tank diameter as both Dux Proflo 250L & 315L electric water heaters, meaning it can fit on the same footprint as the models it’s designed to replace. The 285L model is perfect for larger families with an electric water heater on a continuous tariff or time of use tariff looking to reduce their water heater running costs. It’s also a great choice in new homes to comply with building regulations, including NCC 2022.
The Dux Ecosmart 285L model qualifies for an additional $400 rebate for Australian made heat pumps in the Solar Victoria Solar Homes Program.

Energy Efficient
Dux Ecosmart 285L heat pumps feature a COP of 4.63^, meaning they’re up to 4 times more energy efficient than a standard electric water heater. This makes them a great choice for households looking to reduce their energy use particularly when connected to continuous or time of use tariffs.
^Based on 20ºC ambient air temperature and heating water from 20ºC to 60ºC.
How It Works
Heat pumps absorb free heat energy from the ambient air and use ‘reverse cycle’ technology to heat your water. Just like a fridge, except in reverse. For 1kw of power consumed, they produce 4kw of heating. Using this free energy is why heat pumps are so energy efficient.
The Dux Ecosmart 285L heat pump has a heating output of 2.5kW when heating water via the heat pump alone. This equates to 54L/hr @ 20ºC ambient temperature. This provides a full tank of hot water in just over 5hrs under these conditions.
For single shot boost applications, when both the heat pump & element work simultaenously, you can heat at up to 93L/hr@ 20ºC ambient temperature, resulting in a full tank of hot water in almost half the time.

Functionality in your hand
When connected to the internet, you can remotely monitor the status of the heat pump & change the operating modes via the Smart Life app. The app allows you to:
- Set the heat pump to an operating mode to suit your individual hot water requirements (ECO, Boost, Holiday)
- Single shot boost for the unit to maximise recovery, reducing heating time
- Schedule the water heater to run at particular times of the day to take advantage of low cost time of use tariffs & excess PV generation (if installed)
- Put the heat pump into Holiday mode when the water heater is not expected to be used for a long duration
- View the temperature of the stored water
- Check the status of the heat pump, or for notifications & errors
- In the event of a power outage, both the heat pump & app settings are saved

Our smart Wi-Fi enabled controller provides multiple operating modes to suit your application and maximise your savings. These are accessible through the Smart Life app or via the heat pumps touch screen controller.

Australian Designed and Made
These Ecosmart heat pumps are manufactured right here in Australia, and have been specifically designed for Australian homes and conditions. The premium featured tanks include dual anodes, Y-class commercial grade enamel, 50mm insulation and polymer bases for extended life. They’re rated at up to a maximum of 1,000kPa for full mains pressure.
These heat pumps are coated with anti-corrosive coatings, feature UV stable polymers and fire retardant to make them both safe & durable.
Each Australian made Ecosmart heat pump goes through a comprehensive 18 point quality test before it leaves the factory.
